I. ProblemThe purpose of this lab is to observe how enzymes act on substrates to produce product. We will observe how enzyme activity is altered when the pH of the enzyme is increased.

IV. Procedure1. Have 5 different test tubes with different pH levels
2. Add the different amounts of lactose 3 Add results to a table and graph. |
V. ResultsData Table
I obeserved that the table shows the most amount of product is formed with the the pH level 7. The least amount of product is formed when the less amount of substrait that is added. The most amount of product found is 35,000,000 when about 8-4 lactose added. |
pH vs. Molecules Per Minute |
VI. Conclusion
- It should be a linear increase until there is more substrates than enzymes.
- 350 (x10^6)
- There would be little reaction (not all enzymes are reacting)
- Substait 7 (the most molecules being formed)
- Temperature can effect the rate of enzyme reactions. ( Denature Protein )
- The acidic level of the product
The purpose of this expirement is to observe how enzymes produce products.
