Mitosis Experimental Design
I. Problem/Question
II. Hypothesis
I believe that weather can affect the plant because if the mitosis cycle is hotter than the ideal temperatures it will affect the speed of the mitosis cycle. If my belief is true, we will see the mitosis phase develop at a slower time, measured by the time it takes for cells to undergo cytokinesis seen by a microscope and a time elapsed video.

IV. Experimental Groups*Control Group: A group of plants in normal/ ideal temperature.
Experimental Groups: Plants 25% hotter than ideal temperature. |
V. Experimental Procedure
- Obtain Four (2 for each group) Plants of the same species. Place one set of plants in ideal temperature and the other plants set in a temperature 25%hotter than the other sets.
- Water the plants every 6 hours everyday from 3 weeks. Use a camera to record the plant cells develop throughout the day
- During the weeks, use the microscope to gather data everyday
- After the 3 weeks, get the recorded footage of the cell development to observe and compare data gathered during the experiment
VI. Materials List
- Microscope
- Camera
- 4 identical plants
- Water
- 2 identical Greenhouse
- Healthy Soil
